Change. The only constant thing in our lives. It happens everyday, we just do not realize it because at times it’s just small, unnoticeable ones. Often times we only understand the concept of change if the change that we encounter turns our life around. Just like what happened to me, from a teenager I had to become a mother, in one snap.

I was nineteen when I got pregnant of my first child. My husband and I were still in college back then and still very dependent of our parents. They were very disappointed at first but their love for us still prevailed and still helped us to start a family of our own.
It was not easy for me to shift gears that fast. Having a baby was not easy to take especially when your nineteen and still unaware of how to take care of a growing baby. I had a hard time coping with the sleepless nights, got very nervous every time my baby cries and was very tensed whenever my baby gets sick. It was such a whirlwind for me. Good thing, my mom and my mother-in-law was there to keep my sanity intact every time.

But of course, I didn’t just see the hard times. I also saw the privileges of being a mother. When I gave birth and saw my baby’s eyes for the first time, it felt like the world stopped revolving and that we’re the only ones left in the world. It’s as if all my fears evaporated. Since then I already had a reason to move forward, a reason to strive to make my life better.
