Related Content? How About nRelate?

All bloggers know how important it is to have a new visitor read not just your new post, but your archives too. Most of the time, we get new subscribers through this. So how do you get readers to check out your old posts?

Of course, your new entries are always on the top of your blog and, primarily, blog platforms do not carry a local feature or tool that can pull up your old posts randomly for the readers to see. This is where plugins come in. If you are following a few bloggers yourself, you’ll see that most of them would have a “You Might Also Like” area beneath their entries. That’s the plugin that I am talking about.

I myself use that kind of plugin. I used LinkWithin, well until I discovered nRelate.

Blog Tips: LinkWithin and Shareaholic

I was tweaking out my blog the other day and I realized that there are two important things that my blog is missing: a sharing tool and a related links tool. So I searched the web for the most effective ones and I came across these two excellent applications.

LinkWithin

This is a widget that appears at the bottom of each of your post. It links your recent post to related stories in your blog archive. Its design is very simple; only a small widget link that would take the reader directly to the related post.

What I loved most about it is it doesn’t require you to sign up and it is free! It will only take you a minute to get the widget codes.

Check it out here.

Shareaholic

This is a tool that will give your readers a way to share your posts to their favorite Social Networking site. It supports 87 Social Media platforms.

Check it out here.

I hope you enjoy using these tools!

This Application Called Dropbox

Ever since I have acquired my iPod Touch and my BlackBerry phone, I have been searching the Internet for an effective App that will allow me to have these two babies share media with each other. For those who do not know, iOS and BlackBerry can’t pair up with other devices via bluetooth.

I am an Instagram user and it is only available for iOS. I access it thru my iPod Touch but since mine is just 2nd Generation it doesn’t have a camera. So what I do is I use my BlackBerry to take pictures which I will send to my email which I will then access in my iPod Touch. Very tedious, isn’t it?

But this very tiring practice of mine has already come to an end. Big thanks to this wonderful application that is called Dropbox.
